The Forêt de L’Isle is a non-profit established in 2023. Our mission is to gradually purchase, conserve, and care for forests, wetlands, and other natural areas in L'Isle-aux-Allumettes, Québec. Inspired by forests around Canada that act as community spaces, the Forêt de L'Isle will protect the natural beauty of the area while creating a communal forest, eventually interspersed with a multi-use trail network for use by walkers, cross country skiers, mountain bikers, trail runners, snowshoers and more.
Our focus area is in the southeast portion of the Island around Lac Cranson. This area contains beautiful intact forests and wetlands and is at high risk of development.

We are a non-profit organization operated by volunteers with a love for L'Isle-aux-Allumettes.
We want to protect nature all while fostering community and creating a place where you can come together with your friends and meet your neighbours, whether it's on skis, in boots, runners, or otherwise.
The time is right to pursue conservation in L'Isle-aux-Allumettes. With increased development and a changing climate threatening our natural areas, we need to act now to foster resilient ecosystems in our community.
Both Canada and Québec have committed to protecting 30% of their respective land for conservation purposes by 2030. Forêt de L'Isle wants to make sure that some of that land is conserved in L'Isle-aux-Allumettes.
Our first target area is undeveloped lots surrounding Lac Cranson in the southeastern portion of L'Isle-aux-Allumettes.
